The heart of Jewish heritage tourism — Kazimierz and Auschwitz
Krakow's Kazimierz district was once one of Europe's most vibrant Jewish neighborhoods, and today it's the heart of Jewish heritage tourism in Poland. Pre-war synagogues have been restored, Jewish-themed restaurants and bookshops line the streets, and the nearby Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial demands a visit. Krakow is also a beautiful, affordable, and welcoming city in its own right.
