A historic Jewish city with an incredible concentration of kosher life
Strasbourg, capital of Alsace, is one of France's most important Jewish cities. Over 15,000 Jews call it home, with a concentration of kosher shops, butchers, bakeries, and restaurants that rivals much larger cities. The Kontades quarter has a particularly strong Jewish presence. The city also has an eruv, multiple synagogues, and Haredi communities. The blend of French and German culture, the stunning cathedral, and the fairy-tale old town make it a unique destination.

May–September for warm weather. December is magical for the famous Christmas markets (and the kosher food nearby doesn't hurt).
