The Kadoorie synagogue — largest in Iberia — and port wine country
Porto is home to the Kadoorie Mekor Haim Synagogue, the largest synagogue in the Iberian Peninsula, built by the Kadoorie family of Hong Kong in 1938. The Jewish community is small but the heritage is powerful. Porto itself is a UNESCO World Heritage city with dramatic riverfront views, port wine cellars, and some of the best food in Europe at incredibly reasonable prices.
