Prague's Jewish Quarter (Josefov) is one of the best-preserved in Europe, with six historic synagogues, the Old Jewish Cemetery, and the legend of the Golem. The Old-New Synagogue (Altneuschul), built in 1270, is one of the oldest active synagogues in the world. A small but active community maintains kosher services, and the city is one of Europe's most beautiful and affordable capitals.
