Imperial elegance with a growing kosher scene
Vienna was once a great center of European Jewry, home to Freud, Herzl, and a thriving community. After the Holocaust, it has gradually rebuilt. The 2nd district (Leopoldstadt) is the main Jewish area, with kosher restaurants, synagogues, and community institutions. Imperial palaces, world-class museums, legendary coffee houses, and the State Opera make Vienna a feast for the senses.
