The Best Deal This Week
Welcome to our first weekly deals roundup. The rule here is simple: we only flag fares to places where a frum family can actually function — somewhere with kosher food, a minyan, or a Chabad within reach — and we tell you the catch up front. Everything below was live as of this weekend; fares move fast, so confirm the current price before you get excited.
Our pick of the week is jetBlue's Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale run at $247 round-trip (basic economy; $357 for regular). Fort Lauderdale drops you 20 minutes from the deepest kosher infrastructure in America outside New York — Hollywood, Aventura, and Miami Beach's 41st Street are all an easy drive, with dozens of restaurants and daily minyanim. via The Flight Deal
Fares to Kosher-Friendly Cities in Europe
Two European deals stand out this week because they land you somewhere with a real kosher scene, not just a pretty old town.
- Miami to Vienna, $616 round-trip on Scandinavian Airlines ($716 regular economy). Vienna placed fourth on our own Kosher Travel Index for a reason — the 2nd district has a cluster of kosher restaurants and a working community. See our Vienna guide before you book. via The Flight Deal
- Phoenix to Zurich, $753 round-trip on United ($973 regular). Switzerland is expensive once you land, but Zurich has kosher restaurants and grocery options, and it's a gateway to the Alps. Our Switzerland guide has the details. via The Flight Deal
One planning note for both: European summer Shabbos ends late — after 10pm in Vienna in July — so build your Friday arrival and Motzei Shabbos plans around it.
Sun, Sand, and a Packed Cooler
Three warm-weather fares for the self-catering crowd. None of these has a kosher restaurant on tap, so plan to bring food or lean on a local Chabad:
- New York to St. Kitts, $352 round-trip on jetBlue. Caribbean beach with essentially no kosher infrastructure — this is a double-wrapped-schnitzel-in-the-cooler trip. via The Flight Deal
- Baltimore to Cartagena, Colombia, $295 round-trip on jetBlue. Colombia has a small Chabad presence in Bogotá, but Cartagena itself is self-catering — worth it for the price if you're set up for it. via The Flight Deal
- Portland to Tampa, $294 round-trip on United — Tampa has a modest kosher community and puts you within striking distance of Florida's bigger hubs.
⭐For the Ambitious: A Safari Fare
If a bucket-list trip is on your mind, Qatar Airways is flying Philadelphia to Nairobi for $884 round-trip — a strong price for East Africa. Nairobi is the launch point for a kosher safari, which is very doable with the right planning: self-catered game lodges, a Chabad in the city, and freezer logistics. We walk through the whole thing in our kosher safari guide. Note the routing connects through Doha, so factor in the long haul and reconfirm your KSML. via The Flight Deal
On the Jewish Calendar
Looking further out: DansDeals is running an early-bird raffle for a Succos trip to Yerushalayim, with bonus free entries ending imminently. Not a flight deal exactly, but if Yom Tov in Israel is on your list for this year, it's a free entry worth the two minutes. via DansDeals
💡How do I catch these deals before they sell out?
Flight deals like these often last hours, not days — the airline pulls the fare once enough seats sell. Three habits help: book the flight refundable within 24 hours (US carriers allow this) and sort your Shabbos logistics after; always check that outbound and return flights don't strand you over Shabbos; and get our roundups in your inbox so you're not refreshing feeds all week. Sign up for the newsletter here and we'll send the week's kosher-relevant deals straight to you.
