The Smoke That Thunders — one of the Seven Natural Wonders
Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya — 'The Smoke That Thunders') is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The sheer scale is breathtaking — nearly 2km wide and over 100m tall, with a spray visible from 50km away. The falls straddle the Zimbabwe-Zambia border, and the surrounding area offers world-class adventure activities, Zambezi River cruises, and game drives in nearby Chobe National Park (Botswana). Kosher safari tours often include Victoria Falls as a highlight of a broader Southern Africa itinerary.
February–May for peak water flow (most dramatic spray). June–August for the best combination of water flow and visibility. September–December has lower water but reveals the rock face.
